The Cinema Experience

With more and more people choosing not to go to the cinema any more to watch the newly released movies; will it soon become a thing of the past? Families everywhere are buying large flat screen TV’s to try and recreate the cinema experience in the comfort of their own home and some even seem to prefer it to the actual cinema itself.

While the benefits of watching movies in the comfort of your own home are without doubt very high, there is still a lot left to be said about the cinema experience on a whole, and it is definitely a better option for those who can say they truly love films.

There really is nothing better than watching a film at the cinema, the atmosphere of watching a movie with a large group of people who are all there because they have the same taste in films is unbeatable and whether you are watching a comedy, action film or horror you can guarantee the overall experience and your memory of the film will be much better if you watch it at the cinema. If the film you are watching is a comedy, then having a group of people around you to share the laughs and jokes with is great and the roar of the whole cinema when a hilarious scene takes place is truly infectious. Chances are that even if you didn’t actually find the joke that funny you will find yourself laughing along with the rest of the cinema, as it is both a relaxing and social atmosphere to be in.

Taking a loved one to see a romantic movie can be a great way of spending an evening, the cinema seems to bring out that child like nature in most of us and it can be a great first date to break the ice as the focus is on the movie and not on the two of you. The quality of the cinema’s themselves nowadays is also a lot higher than it used to be, with each cinema complex having vast amounts of different screens and all the best seating and layouts. You can buy plenty of refreshments in the lobby and usually in the bigger cinema multi complexes there are restaurants and bars nearby for before or after your visit.

One of the best and strongest reasons to watch the latest movies at the cinema however is the fact that the special effects in the films really are made for the cinematic experience, and watching some of the more elaborate stunts and special effects on the big screen beats watching a DVD hands down. Also you are able to completely focus on the movie itself rather than having to get up and down as you would at home, this makes you appreciate the film for what it really is and gives you the chance to watch every last detail exactly as it was designed to be. Let’s continue to use our cinemas as much as possible and not let them turn into a thing of the past for the sake of spending a little bit extra on an entry fee. In my books it’s money well spent!
